![]() I really hope that's not going to be standard practice, but this sudden and rather ongoing pattern of shipping delays affecting only my FCP mailings is starting to make me wonder. They can't get Priority Mail to go any faster, practically speaking, but they can sit on FCP for a couple of days to ensure that it doesn't arrive at the same time as a PM mailpiece that was mailed at the same time but cost more. The dreaded 'In Transit, Arriving Late' tends to automatically show up when there is no scan or activity a few days after being scanned as 'arrived at USPS Regional Facility.' I think the USPS is especially reluctant to try to locate missing mail from their distribution centers because they process so much mail at these facilities. If you get this notification from USPS, you should wait for at least 5 days before contacting USPS support, and if after 5 days the parcel is not delivered you. If I put on my tinfoil hat for a moment here (I'm still wearing my winter one with the fur trim I hope you like it), I wonder if the USPS have decided to try to boost the appeal of Priority Mail service by exaggerating the difference in shipping time between that and First Class Package. There is one other possibility that I hate to think about. This has nothing to do with eBay's Estimated Date of Delivery this is the USPS themselves saying that by their own standards, these packages are going to be late, and I think fully half of my FCP mailings over the past month or so have been reported that way. It is currently in transit to the next facility. FebruIn Transit, Arriving Late Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. But the mail has got stuck somehow since Feb 9. The one glimmer of hope I have that things will get better sometime is that even the USPS themselves are acknowledging that the packages will arrive late, so at least they've noticed it in their tracking statistics. I sent out my AOS packet using USPS priority mail from Boston MA to Chicago on Feb 7, the ETA was Feb 10. Yes, in the past couple of months, I've noticed a significant breakdown in shipping times of First Class Package items, especially here in the Chicago area, where it's suddenly been taking an average of 3-4 days for packages to travel from our local PO to the origin sort facilities around Chicago (Palatine, Elk Grove Village or Carol Stream, mostly), before they are eventually sent on to other parts of the country. It is currently in transit to the next facility.' No weather issues, or labor strikes, fortunately the customers were OK with it. Let’s establish what USPS in transit arriving late even means. When I check Tracking, it says "IN TRANSIT ARRIVING LATE". 'In Transit, Arriving Late Your package will arrive later than expected, but is still on its way. What is USPS in transit arriving late First things first. ![]() For example, you were told that your package would arrive on the 6th but because it’s late it may arrive on the 7th or 8th. Going on with the Post Office? For the second time this month I have been notified by a buyer that the item has not arrived. How long does in transit arriving late mean It means that your package will still be delivered but just not on the expected day that you were told.
